Sunset

All the things in life we try to get
All the goals that we haven’t met
I’m sorry for not meeting your expectations yet
So pardon me as I drive off into the sunset

Held to a higher standard it’s clear
We get caught up unconsciously in fear
Not quite sure which way to steer
When we have yet to find our appropriate gear

If the end is near, when will it stop
This bubble you’ve built is about to pop
My faith isn’t something that’ll drop
But your view is lacking growth, it has flopped

All the things in life we try to get
All the goals that we haven’t met
I’m sorry for not meeting your expectations yet
So pardon me as I drive off into the sunset

Lingering issues of feelings from the past
Long last the facts of success and contrast
I’ve never ventured into the aura of relapse
Except when it came to the thought of my loves collapse

Such painful addictions catch the unsuspecting
Little do they know that once would turn into many
Our culture caught up in the realm of judging
When not one gavel should hit since they’re not perfecting

All the things in life we try to get
All the goals that we haven’t met
I’m sorry for not meeting your expectations yet
So pardon me as I drive off into the sunset

These grudges constantly seen are atrocious
People waving their hands around like it’s hocus pocus
Getting their encouragement from the wrong daily doses
I wonder if they’re aware that they’ve been caught in hypnosis

Subliminal messages are now constantly identified
No longer can the secret societies continue to hide
Conspiracy has long been viewed as a negative
When at times it has exposed an actual perspective

All the things in life we try to get
All the goals that we haven’t met
I’m sorry for not meeting your expectation yet
So pardon me as I drive off into the sunset

Time to look forward so that we can forget any chance of maintaining regret

Silent Side

I walk alone to the sound of grace
Not knowin’ what’ll come next in my fate
I know I’m lost without you though
As I feel an emptiness embrace

I have two hands, one occupied by my creator
The other just fallin’ to my waist side
I know where I’ll end up because of my savior
In the meantime I’m without you, my bride

The claim out there is that everyone seeks love
I’ve found it, as it rests and lives above
Part of me questions this element of humanity
We’re all created equally, many meant for unity

I’ve prayed and I’ve sought out to discover
No results other than the negative were delivered
Some have a significant other awaiting a certain time
That day they meet and the presence of the divine

In this realm I’m lost without you
Because here you may not even exist
Some question what it is I’ll do
The times I’ve felt you though, I can only reminisce

You’re out there somewhere in the great beyond
Our time may not ever come until our lives are done
My heart will remain true and grow ever so fond
As you’ve visited me in spirit, shining bright like the sun

In this moment my mind has been made
No point for rigorous expectation, I let it fade
Alone I’ll be and forever remain in the sense of humanity
Whether or not that’s correct, we shall soon see

After all tomorrow is never truly guaranteed
