The winds shift as people argue over policies
Trying to persuade others to their senses personally
Talking about all sorts of different controversies
Gun laws and restrictions when it isn’t the material, but the person’s mentality

Time after time we’re witnessing multiple tragedies
Just lately many centered around one common city
Still people don’t see it, you’ve got to be kidding me
The hatred that spreads derives from our very own society

The messages that get taught and displayed
Recur constantly day after day, every single way
There is no end in sight when you tell people they are nothing
Trying to implant it into their heads that there’s no purpose residing

If that’s their outlook for themselves in their sight
Then how do you expect them to value someone else’s life
It doesn’t matter the background of the victims
When the perpetrator decides that their lives are also not worth it

Many of these shootings end in suicide
It’s because they feel it allows them to hide
Which is far from the truth since they essentially get glorified
Media giving fame to their name while the families of the lost are mortified

They don’t get away from the consequences
Yet many people want to feel that is the essence
However many of us know of a further judgment
That doesn’t get discussed since the media embellishes a different predicament

So what’s to stop many others from replication
If they feel they can get notoriety from and escape the situation
People are being driven into these false perceptions
Creating further conflict between citizens of every nation

Especially when you try to segregate humans
By painting the picture of something minor equating a huge difference
When the reality is we’re all the same race
Each uniquely made being identifiable through our face

Many variations can support that fact
The population count is one simplistic way to react
If people don’t appreciate themselves
How can we expect love for others not to remain rotting on the shelf

There is change that needs to occur for sure
Just the reality is nobody wants to acknowledge the proper
Faith and belief have almost became taboo
While violence and hatred have seemed to fill their shoes

Sad days with sad times
The gateway deciding not to shift the line
Light does still exist
Just this world seems to prefer the darkness
