We peer out the window
See all the other traffic flow
Life flies by like, “where’d it go”
Once a child, now we’re full grown
Responsibilities stack up
How do you see the cup
Half full or half empty
So much to be distracting
Everyone vying for our thoughts
Questioning everything we bought
They call it research invading our privacy
Seems a little off logically
We watched movies about aliens invading
Never thought my life would be probed by agencies
So many thoughts, so little time
We all now walk a fine line
Nobody can make a gesture
Without feeling a ton of pressure
You see the conspiracy
Then everyone says you’re crazy
What if they just pay attention to the reality
A lot of what is considered real is fake
All for entertainment’s sake
When we witness a rift
We should see it as a gift
Because we need those that are different
The same ol’ same isn’t change
A continuous spiral of doing the wrong things
Gatekeepers trying to keep the truth out
People think it’s nonsense since it isn’t their doubt
Round and round we can go with discussion
The plot twists and ideas of separation
So many try to define differences that aren’t there
Making you numb to the feeling of wanting to care
Everyone wants their wealth to multiply
Yet their thoughts of others only want to divide
Command and conquer is one given tactic
It’s sad that many want to embrace that bracket
All these headlines are a miserable racket
Nothing we should hear if we want cheer
Just because we are in a different year
Doesn’t mean we should accept everything
There is still right and wrong in our living
Laws exist as does violence
So why does protection get met with resistance
Wrongful accusations are becoming persistent
Trying to create a dialogue that isn’t coherent
Yet still many believe everything they see
Instead of taking the time to learn correctly
There are many manipulative strategies in marketing
Hooking the minds of individuals unpleasantly
Think how it is you decide
Where have you gone on this ride
Are you comfortable enough not to hide
Can you allow yourself to express what’s on the inside
What is it that has dominated your focus
Are the proper things getting noticed
