Throughout life I’ve seen many things
Whereas you may have seen them differently
I’ve heard many voices expressed through singing
While the tones you’ve listened to may not have arrived as gently

We each have our own journey
An adventure on this planet unlike any other
Most people want to treat it like a competitive tourney
While many of us aim to love one another

As the years pass by lots of lessons are learned
There are many words that get said time and time again
With the direction of certain ordeals it brings cause for concern
As there are tons of outlooks and policies that need improvement

Each life is unique as is our perspective
So to expect perfection through similarity is odd
Lots of people put impossible standards on friends and relatives
When the reality is it is unfair for them to think they can act as God

Mistakes get made no matter who you are
There isn’t anything that can avoid that fact
As deep as the ocean and as far as the stars
We’re certain to need adjustments in how it is we act
