Fabric

Make the mention of a fine linen
All this talk has got my mind spinnin
I’m too focused on the moral fabric
The one our society has lost in panic

They’d rather be politically correct
Honing to the feelings of a human subject
Embedded in the flesh ignoring the spirit
Temporary belongings just aren’t worth it

You can build a castle on sand
But it will be swept away by the seas hand
A proper foundation is firm like a rock
As we have seen of Earth we can’t invest in it’s stock

Evil flourishes cause many just let it
Not much rise against the improper elements
Many satisfied with their sense of self
Ignoring the likeness of another’s Eternal health

Lack of belief or too ignorant to accept
Salvation is a promise that will always be kept
Positive actions are still defined as right
Therefore there’s work to be done with all this wrong in sight

What is it about you that people will remember
That you stood strong or fled away like a coward
Principles come from within so don’t get it clouded
What’s good comes from Heaven, which can never be too crowded

Fresh

Everyday that I awake
Is another present that I take
Cause it’s a gift to get out of bed
Despite the problems in my head

I’m not one to say life is easy
Since that would just be cheesy
Not to mention flat out false
Too many tragedies to allow a waltz

Removing my covers I unwrap the gift
To face another day where my life could shift
It can be haunting and a big surprise
Encountering new truths or blatant lies

Never a cakewalk it’s always a battle
Even when you’re happy others can be rattled
We’re all in sync many of us linked
Yet we don’t allow ourselves time to think

What you face today can be a mystery
But with your past comes a history
Choices and consequences tend to build
Though they’re not meant to make you be unfulfilled

It can all be made fresh and new
However problems will still accrue
God is love and the author of our story
So in this day who are you giving the glory

Amador

I’m a lover of God
Not that of pleasures
I try not to be odd
But seek valid treasure
Not the kind that fades
Nor the kind that breaks
But the kind that aides
Helping me overcome mistakes

Mistreatment

It happened when He walked the Earth
Still now to this day they devalue His worth
The truest expression of love ever given
The definition of sacrifice being purpose driven
Wrongfully accused through invalid accusations
Still on this day His name is ridiculed with inaccurate correlations
They want to label His word how they see fit
Without ever understanding the actual meaning of it
So sad that their misconceptions bury their intellect
Cause when they’re dead I’m sure they’ll wish they showed some respect
Regardless of their hatred, I’ll continue to pray for them

If it makes me less of a man…

To not refer to women as the B word
To show them the utmost respect
To actually listen to their feelings not lying when I say, “I heard”
To have the innate desire to protect

To hold the door open
To give up my seat
To conduct myself like a classic gentleman
To always make sure on dates that I treat

To compliment them with good intent
To refuse to abuse their gifts
To accept their offer of only friendship
To comfort them in the times they’re miffed

To not cheat on a significant other
To save myself for my bride
To abide by the rules set by their mother
To ensure their safety so they don’t have to hide

To be known not to scheme
To always be available to speak
To aid them the best I can on the way to their dreams
To never let any of their secrets leak

To make them feel unique
To give them hope
To stay by their side when they’re not at their peak
To avoid the temptations by simply saying, “nope”

To never run away
To give them my attention
To appreciate them each and every day
To love them correctly without hesitation

Then I guess less is more…

Brevity

A lot of people caught up in what they can see
Not focused truly on all of their surroundings
The problem with that is all of this luxury and money
That they seek and are anticipating
Is nothing more than this life here, which is temporary

Gate

I stand at this ancient mosaic
Feeling free as if I hold no weight
It is beautifully made but also archaic
What is this glorious structure of fate

I examine what appears to be a barricade
Unsure of these emotions that came
My mind in a fix so I begin to pray
I call out to the one and only name

It opens exposing a bright light
I am astonished at the sight
Engulfed in this presence of peace
The light doesn’t seem to cease

I can’t help but begin to think
What is this form of splendor
I’m unable to blink
My vision too caught up in this treasure

Unable to completely measure what transpired
It is almost as if I am wired
This doesn’t seem real, but I’d rather not escape
Everything is coming together beginning to take shape

More questions than answers continue to arise
Fragment after fragment being presented from my mind
In due time I realize that I’m suppose to analyze
Like a puzzle it’s all coming together though much to my surprise

The fact of the matter is it’s all open here
Nothing to prevent it from coming into the clear
No more human element for it to fear
The gates have fallen allowing it to appear

What is this it and what purpose does it serve
I can’t seem to shake the attention it deserves
Why have I blocked this all away in the past
Another lesson to be learned so I can acquire some contrast

It appears evident that this is important
This anomaly presenting me with a pathway
A direction to seek and a seed to plant
A mission to fulfill and a journey to take Christ’s way

Tearing down the gates of distraction
I never knew what I came to ignore
I can’t hesitate to take positive action
As it can result in the opening of a unique door

Surrounded by this ecstasy
This notion has been riveting
A clear message being delivered
The solace I need to continue resides within God’s word

Lifeblood

We try to find ourselves daily
Facing problems on the regular
It isn’t about what they make us see
But how we confront their dare

We can say things that hold definition
Yet not mean a single word in relation
No matter the height of the situation
There’s something that drives our elevation

We have growth and prosperity
All the while going through life struggling
This life is only temporary
So what is it that fuels your destiny

We’re all well aware we aren’t alone
You can always connect to someone
Computers, face to face, games, and phones
All this noise continuing on until our life is done

So many focus on only what is fun
Others drown in their work trying for success
The result of both is they end up on the run
Cause they find themselves empty in a mess

When our heart pumps it’s an extension on living
Giving a necessity to the rest of our figure
This Earth around you relies on you giving
Since you’re a specimen that provides a unique adventure

Just like many aspects make us a whole
We too contribute toward an overall goal
Life sustains from one to the next
So what is it for you that makes it less complex

Retina

When I looked into her eyes
I could see the sparkling ocean
Along with the depth of the skies
It was then I was filled with varying emotion

I could see all the possibilities
What it was she claimed to be her dreams
All the goals she accomplished
All the rest she had yet wished

The glorious wonders of her mind
The beauty which was indeed her design
The essence of all that was kind

Nothing mattered in that moment
I felt peace away from the torment
It was about what was within
Not anything physical such as the skin

I was lost in the grip of this trance
That I ignored the warmth in my hands
The blood that I had lost
Which undoubtedly will have my life as the cost

She gave me that additional grace
While our time flashed in front of my face
It was wonderful time spent
So sad that it is now coming to an end
One day though my love, we shall meet again

Chivalry

I don’t want to throw it all away
Just because the way society is today
I can’t blame anyone else
Because I can control myself
I won’t let it die as long as I have my health

You see as long as I’m alive
I will continue to strive
To make respect and love be felt
Since I want to see women grow, not melt

Romance isn’t what it use to be
With many privileges coming with ease
Or rather redefined and not seen as unique
Due to the wants of those that are weak

I can plainly see guilt on both sides
As not many even try to hide
Their so open with their private matters
It makes one wonder if it can get any better

No matter what society isn’t me
I won’t conform to the new norm
As women remain in my eyes a true beauty

I can’t stand to see them undervalued and hurt
When the best of everything is all they deserve
Protection, guard, decency, comfort, and care
The list goes on, but these actions now all seem so rare

So I’ll move forward with my duty
To carry on a long lost legacy
Where I can hope to possibly
Eradicate the poor treatment of the ladies
By continuing to introduce some chivalry
